Remember how I mention in my last blog post that one of my goals for 2023 is to learn how to shoot film? Well, I’m going for it!! I bought a real light meter (no more trying to use the app on my phone!), called up two of my girlfriends (still so crazy to me that I used to babysit these girls, but now I just think of them as unbiological sisters), and headed to Charleston for a fun girls day! These are my 3rd and 4th rolls of film and I still can’t believe how good these turned out!! Still learning and experimenting, but so far I am loving Portra 400! I’ve always loved bright and slightly warm colors and Portra definitely seems to be the film stock for that.
I’m starting to plan some styled shoots in Columbia and based off how well these rolls turned out… I might push myself and shoot film at those shoots too. But I am definitely going to try and practice more before then! I have a roll of Portra 160 and Portra 800 sitting in my desk drawer currently, and I’m thinking I should plan a day trip to Savannah to try them out… Claramae, what are you doing next month? 😉
