I think this might be one of my favorite engagement sessions ever. If you don’t know this about me already (but seriously, you should know this.) I adore Charleston. One of my favorite parts of living in Columbia is that now I just have to jump on I-26, drive straight, and within 2 hours I’m in the heart of Downtown. It’s the best thing ever. But getting to shoot in downtown Charleston isn’t the reason I think this is one of my favorite engagement sessions.
I met Peyton last January in Orlando. A bunch of girls I know from Kentucky were coming down to Florida for a Photography event and we all ended up renting an airbnb and staying together. During those few days Peyton told us all about her sweet boyfriend Jared. They had just bought their first house together, were renovating it a literal dream house (seriously I’m going to link to her house instagram. It’s beautiful and I just can’t get enough of it.), and she knew Jared would be popping the question soon.
Fast forward to April, when Peyton messaged me saying they were coming down to Charleston for a fun romantic getaway. She didn’t know what Jared’s plan was exactly, but he was going to propose for sure and she wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to have engagement photos taken downtown. I immediately said “Yes!” (after screaming in excitement for her!) and started making plans to get myself down there the next week!
It was just the best morning. I already knew Peyton was a literal ray of sunshine, but I quickly found that all the sweet things she had said about Jared were 100% true. Rarely do you meet a guy who is not just willing, but excited to have pictures taken- and Jared was definitely here for all of it. The multiple outfits, the snuggling in 80+ degree weather (in a jacket no less), and getting up at the crack of dawn so we could shoot at sunrise- he was the happiest camper.
And can we take a moment for the ring he picked for her?! A STUNNER!!
Congratulations, Peyton and Jared!! I’m so happy for you both and I cannot wait to follow along on the next chapters of your lives!
