Manomet Beach
What started as a fun adventure in 2021 has turned into a deep love for New England- specifically for Manomet Beach. I’ve come here the last 3 summers and every time I come, I find something new to love about the place. Manomet Beach is so different from the beaches I grew up going to in South Carolina and Florida. The coast is rocky, you have to climb 3 sets of stairs to get there, and the waves from the Bay are so much quieter than the waves from the ocean.
There are so many fun things to do in New England and I always love driving onto Cape or into Boston. But I think I could spend an entire month, just sitting on my towel reading my books. It’s the first place I come to, after I unpack the obscene amount of luggage I have, and my wine walks during golden hour fill me up in a way no other beach can.
This summer I’ve been shooting a lot more film, and one day when the breeze was just too chilly to sit out and tan, I brought my film camera and shot a whole roll of Portra 400 film. Even though I love the images, I don’t feel like I did it justice… which means I’ll just have to come back and try again next year!
See you next August, Manomet Beach!
